Kenion Sector 1 - A

The A.I.

The strange Alien on the screens turned out to be even stranger than any of the survivors could of Imagined, the alien turned out not be be a flesh and blood alien but an ancient A.I the last of a set that guarded the ship for the A.I. claims to be millions of cycles. The A.I.’s name when transaltes to “Michael custos et lumen bastion furoris caeli”, or in english Michael the guardian of light and bastion of the fury of heaven. Which Henery shortened to Michael. The Ships name was the wayfarer of light it was formerly a heavy cruiser in service to the Imperial Navy till the breakout of the Second Kenion Rebellion when it rebelled and joined the rebellion. The ship was striped and was sent to an extensive retrofit, or as the survivors found out being rebuilt, rearranging the ship and even adding two decks.

The Ship was still in dry dock when the Crystalis bombs where denoted. The ship’s workers abounded it and left it to be consumed, but the A.I.’s 5 in total took control of the ship. The ship was barely outfitted, most decks only half completed, some sealed to normal access. This was coupled with only three physical bodies, an android and two Holographic constructs, these AIs where not joined and created great conflict.

The ship survived against all odds, and endured for what the AI describes as millions of years, jumping in and out of various different systems and regions of space in search of the cause they joined. They never found the rebellion but they found many a fight, this was evident by the battle scars of the ship, at most parts barely hanging together. Micheal talks for long periods of time about these battles, like a old solider reliving his glory days. The ship appears to at one time been heavily armed including a complement of nearly 180 Nova missiles, but per the A.I’s report only 17 remain. The AI finds that the survivors are not Kenion but appear to be by most scans, but relieved to have a crew again asks one of the survivors for orders, calling him Captian….

The Ship

The survivors where hopelessly stranded in deep space, with no piryte to fuel the vortex reactor the ship could not enter FTL. Stuck with the choice of give up, plot a course to the next system using sub-light speeds or attempt get assistance from others. The survivors constructed a crude hyper-wave transmitter. This was an Length task which involved grueling situations about the Cobra but at last they constructed the transmitter. With a new found sense of hope the survivors powered up the transmitter and hoped for help. After a week trying they finally got an answer but not the one they where hopping for, they where caught in a tractor beam by a junker ship whom had no regard for their lives. Not wanting to go down without a fight the survivors powered their weapons systems and attempted to blast their would be executioner to pieces. This caused the systems to shut off, due to some fine programming by one of the survivors the transmitter kicked into over drive and started draining all of the power aboard the cobra. Killkenny jumped into action and disabled the transmitter when they restored power they saw the junker burning in space. Overjoyed for a moment the crew was about to be happy when they realized that both they almost collided with a second ship and their weapons could not of done that much damage. Then they where hailed by the second ship, with a starkly alien face instructing them to land. The face was human in appearance until you found the deep obsidian like eyes, the long pointed ears and the unnerving stillness of the face. The survivors agreed to land, then the cobra was taken over by the ship and landed in their area. What lays in wait in the ship, is the alien friend or foe? .

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.

The beganing

The brave survivors that where fleeing earth after the Tartian invasion where aboard the The Distant Dawn fleeing the fast pursuing fleets. Separated from the rest of the exodus fleet the Distant dawn has been playing a cat a mouse game with their pursuers for the last two years. The survivors where split into two groups the sleepers, and those whom remained awake. Those whom remained awake learned how to adapt to the new realities of the universe they live in. Learning and growing the group of survivors where happy to break the daily regimen of life by taking a trip to the bridge. The survivors fell asleep and awoke in hyper sleep chambers, not knowing how they got there. Taking their surroundings the group found Henery with them and a damaged room. After finding out the ship was about to vent its atmosphere the survivors made a mad dash to a repair bay where they fought their way through Nerkesh scavengers and aboard a cobra class gunship and blasted their way off the Distant dawn. Just in the knack of time as the distant dawn vented her atmosphere and jumped to an unknown location with her precious cargo of sleepers still in their unending slumber. The survivors now aboard an adrift vessel make the realization that the vessel is missing a vital fuel to bring the FTL drive online now stuck in deep space, the survivors plot a course till the next star and try to signal help. What will happen to the brave survivors stuck in the unending void ?
